Once You’re on the Island!
We’re located here:
By Car
If you wish to drive (either hiring a car or using your own) then head to Kennacraig and take the ferry. The drive to Kennacraig is about 2.5 hours from Glasgow, 3.75 hours from Carlisle and allow 2 hours for the ferry crossing. We recommend that you allow extra time to visit infamous sites such as Loch Lomond or Inveraray (for the Inveraray Castle and Inveraray Jail). The ferry can be busy at peak times so booking ahead is recommended http://www.calmac.co.uk/.
By Public Transport
Citylink https://www.citylinkonlinesales.co.uk/CitylinkWeb operates a regular service from/ to Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station to the Kennacraig Ferry Terminal. Checking the times marry up with a ferry is advised!
By Air
http://www.britishairways.com and http://www.flybe.com run regular services from Glasgow International Airport (GLA) to Islay Airport (ILY), also known as Glenegedale Airport.
